While looking for the next anime to watch, I stumbled upon “Berserk’s” first run quite a few times, read a lot of good reviews on it, but I just couldn’t bring myself to watch it because of how ugly the MC looks and its outdated art. As soon as I got word that they would remake this series, I was kind of excited because I knew I’d definitely give a modern version a try. (Usually, the second run is usually gold if done right, like in FMA : Brotherhood, HXH 2011, etc.) So, as soon as the first episode was released, I was quick to watch it. First thing I noticed, was how damn life-less (<Is that even a word? But you get the point) the art was. It makes me want to close my laptop, and move on. Although, since I started watching anime I learned not to judge an anime by its art because I could miss on some really good content. So, I’m still going to give it a try, but I have nothing good to say about its art. The MC looks like the closest thing a human can be to being a hybrid human-bear, fearless, and determined. It definitely looks like it’s going to be full of bloodshed, which is good because I hate censorship. Also, we see just how badass this guy is right off the bat, pretty cool. There’s a lot of questions I have about him, his background, and where he got to this point in his life but I’m sure that will all be revealed in the future episodes. Overall, I’d say only give it a try if you have nothing else to do or watch.
